Product Description The Maverick blaster features a six-dart rotating barrel with easy flip loading so you don't have to waste any time while blasting enemy targets. Rapid launching action increases your battle speed and accuracy. Other features include a pullback mechanism and auto-advancing barrel. The Maverick is a part of the N-Strike team, so you can snap it onto the Unity Power System (sold separately) and ratchet the NERF action up another notch. This incredibly cool Maverick blaster has a six-dart barrel with flip-open action for easy loading that puts you right back in the game. Blaster comes with six darts and instructions.
Editorial Review Like the gun toted by the cowboy hero with whom it shares its name, the Maverick is a six shooter. Unlike the gun that other Maverick had, however, this weapon shoots only soft suction darts that can fly across a room and adhere to a window or other glass surface. The Maverick features a rotating barrel, which makes it easier to keep the firepower flying in the midst of heated battle and a futuristic look to better engender sci-fi fantasy play if you so choose. For a little extra power boost, the gun also has a pump mechanism. In our informal test, the darts flew surprisingly far and impressively straight. --Charlie Williams

MY NAME IS SEAN AND THIS IS MY REVIEW July 16, 2010 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This "gun" is probably the best of all the Nerf "guns."
PROS
EASY TO LOAD
RELOADING IS QUICK
*KINDA HURTS IF YOU GET SHOT IN THE FACE FROM AN INCH AWAY
DOESN'T BREAK UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY TRY TO
FROM WHAT I HEAR IT IS "RELIABLE" IN NERF GUN WARS... whatever that means...
CONS
*KINDA HURTS WHEN YOU GET SHOT IN THE FACE FROM AN INCH AWAY.
If you want to take this "gun fighting" thing to the next level I suggest you buy an air soft gun instead. But I wouldn't recommend getting one unless your:
12 years of age
Out of the cry baby stage because air soft guns hurt
have friends that are intrested in perhaps joining an air soft team so you can fight each other
If your parents would actually let you
Wear a safety mask whenever you intend to shoot an air soft gun. (remember they are dangerous.)
If you don't wear a mask then you have pretty HIGH chances of getting one or both of your eyes taken out. (two eyes if it is an automatic airsoft gun your dealing with ;)
BE SAFE AND DON'T TAKE THIS NERF GUN THING TOO SERIOUSLY.
THE LAST THING YOU NEED IS TO BE A NERD HAVE NO FRIENDS AND YOUR ALONE.
A Must-Have for any Dorm Room July 6, 2010 Joshua Brumett (Dallas, TX) I realize that most of the reviews for this product are aimed for a different age demographic (and rightfully so), but I have to say, the Maverick was one of the main things that got me through my Freshman year of college. If you know are about to send off a college-aged kid or are putting together a care package to mail them, I am a firm believer that every dorm room or apartment needs at least one functioning Nerf gun.
The Maverick is small enough to fit on a bookshelf, and the suction darts are perfectly designed to stick to an textbook from across the room, or the back or an unsuspecting roommate's laptop. Although I hugely recommend this toy as fun and easy to use for its appropriate age group, I can't hope to express the hours of stress-relieving fun I've had after bringing mine to school. Truly, it is amazing how much happiness this $15 dollar toy can bring a group of homesick freshmen.

The Maverick REV-6 could be the most famous nerf blaster of all nerf guns. This gun is a lock and load blaster. This and all nerf guns are cool.
The Nerf Of Me April 4, 2010 Spudman (Pasadena, MD United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this "gun" on the recommendation of one of my high school tutoring students. He likes the Nerf Maverick and says that some of his teachers own them for shootouts in school. My purchase was made to dissuade those rascally squirrls who insist on eating from our backyard tray feeder.
Pulling back the spring loaded slide requires more than a little effort, making it quite a challenge for any five or six-year-old. The six included darts load into the rotating chamber, but only one shot can be taken per pullback.
Our birdfeeder is 26 feet from the deck, a distance I assumed would be within the range of this benign weapon. The darts reach the squirrels in the feeder (weakly) if I aim above their heads and adjust for wind conditions, temperature, and phases of the moon. I've only hit one squirrel and that was on the bounce as he was bounding away from the feeder.
I can only imagine that this toy would be lots of fun for a kid or a grown up kid as long as he or she has the strength to pull back the spring loader. I may be buying some of the whistling darts because I've read that in addition to making a cool, intimidating noise, they travel further
Is It Really Safe? March 31, 2010 J. Speer (OHIO) 0 out of 12 found this review helpful
I purchased this toy for my sons' enjoyment. I instructed them to be careful but I was confident in the safety of the toy. No where in the gun literature did it say that the gun would still fire even within close range. My youngest son suffered a contusion on the cheek and my older son had a red mark on his forehead for more than 2 hours. Beware - the gun DOES FIRE no matter where you aim it.
