4 out of 5 stars Very Nice Kids Guitar   March 23, 2010

Overall, a great learning guitar for children, easy to fret, tuning machines are built well, and nylon strings are easier for kids to learn on.

3 out of 5 stars Nice little guitar   February 10, 2010

I bought this for my grandson, because he wanted to practice guitar with me. He's 5 years old and the guitar fits him pretty well. The nylon strings stay in tune better than I thought they would, every time I check them their pretty close. I installed a strap button up under the neck, it came with one on the end. It does scratch and dent pretty easy. Overall I'm happy with my purchase

1 out of 5 stars Great until it fell apart, save your money   December 5, 2009

My son loved this guitar and treated it gently but after six months it literally came unglued. Amazon was not at all helpful and would not replace/refund it. If you are considering this guitar before it broke the sound was great. It did need to be tuned frequently but that is to be expected with a new guitar.

5 out of 5 stars A guitar player's review of this instrument   June 26, 2009

I've played guitar for almost 20 years, and also sold them at a prominent local store when I was younger, so I hope my opinion will offer an educated point-of-view. I purchased this for my 3 year old who was always wanting to pick up my guitars. I knew this was what I wanted b/c it uses nylon strings which are FAR easier on the fingers than steel strings. This important detail is often overlooked, but is critical if you want your child to have a "this feels good" association with playing a guitar. Otherwise, steel strings will simply hurt their fingers. Some negative reviews have stated this doesn't hold it's tune very well. To that, I would reply that it's the nature of nylon strings to stretch a lot once they are tuned to the correct pitch, and this can be easily confused with being the guitar's fault--it's not. On a related note, invest in an expensive acoustic guitar tuner if you truly want your child to develop a sense of pitch early on. So, needing to re-tune a few times is totally normal. The instrument is surprisingly well-built, and sounds surprisingly good considering the cost and size. He loves to strum it, and does so many times a day. I would absolutely recommend this over most any other "starter guitar."

5 out of 5 stars Bargain for the price   January 12, 2009

This is a terrific guitar for a first time player. We bought it for my son who is 4 and the quality is so much better than we expected. A friend who plays the guitar really well tuned it up and said the quality was surprisingly excellent...good enough to actually take lessons on for youngsters.
