Durability: (what this means)
The Good: Experience the thrill of real night vision technology.
The Bad: The display screen will leave you wanting more.
In a Nutshell: A fun and entertaining toy that will keep older kids entertained for hours. | At a Glance Ages: 8 and up Requires: 5 AAA batteries | | | Darkness Is Your Ally... With the EyeClops Night Vision goggles, your child can explore dark environments with advanced infrared technology. Set-up is easy. Simply insert five AA batteries into the battery pack at the back of the head-set, and slide the power switch to turn on the goggles. Once the screen display lights up inside of the right eye-piece, you can fit the goggles to your child's head by adjusting the soft rubber straps around top and sides. EyeClops Night Vision goggles come equipped with a hinged, flip-up eye-piece that can be opened when the goggles are turned off, or closed when the goggles are in use. Your child can choose between the maximum surveillance mode which emits a barely-visible ring of red LEDs around the eyepiece so they can see up to 50 feet in absolute darkness, or go for the stealth mode to remain completely invisible while they explore the dark landscape immediately around them. A small switch on the side of the goggle head-set allows them to switch from a black-and-white to a green screen display. Enhance Your Nighttime Stealth Operations The futuristic design of the durable plastic head-piece adds to the fun of these exciting night vision goggles. Soft rubber molding around the goggles and adjustable straps across the top and sides makes them comfortable and easy to wear. While the EyeClops Night Vision goggles provide a crisp, clear image of dark landscapes, they should always be used under adult supervision. Because the display screen is small and provides limited peripheral vision, these goggles should only be used in environments that are free of potential tripping hazards. As a nice safety feature, the goggles' handy flip-up eye-piece over the left eye provides immediate access to normal vision if your child becomes disoriented or needs to take a break from viewing through the small display screen located in the right eye-piece. Durable and lightweight, these fun goggles work so well that you might just find yourself borrowing them from your child so you can have your turn enjoying some super stealth, covert nighttime missions of you own! What's in the Box EyeClops headpiece with goggles, battery pack and adjustable straps.

Don't Buy This Toy! February 6, 2010 K. Gottlieb (Pacifica, CA) The view window is the size of a POSTAGE STAMP. Are you kidding me?? My kids put these on for about 5 seconds, took them off and never touched them again. This is the worse piece of crap I have ever bought from anyone EVER. The marketing of this toy is incredibly misleading. All of the pictures on their website are designed to fool you into believing that you get a normal view window. No way. It is a POSTAGE STAMP. How in the world could a child enjoy such a toy?
Do not buy this toy. You have been warned.
Eyeclops - Head Strap broken February 1, 2010 Susan Duffy (TEWKSBURY, MA, US) This was my child's number one gift he wanted for Christmas. Imagine his disappointment when the first time he put it on, that the head strap was already broken.
We returned it and got the eyeclops binoculars, because we realized that the warnings on the goggles say not to walk around with them on-you have to stand still-for safety reasons-so the binoculars made more sense as you can carry them and lift them up to your eyes when you want to.
Broke the minute they came out of the box January 30, 2010 gracesmommy2 (Texas) I bought 2 pairs of these for my children for Christmas at a retail store. I got them on sale for $29.99 which I thought was a great deal. Now I know why they were so cheap! When working, they're great! My daughter got hers out first and had a blast with them. My son's on the other hand broke the minute they came out of the box. The strap that holds them on the head is held to the toy by this very little plastic piece. Unfortunately, the plastic piece snapped off immediately (in fact we think it was broken in the box as we never saw it come off). Without this little 1 cent piece of plastic the toy can no longer be used because you can not strap them on the head anymore. We took them back to the store and bought my son the binoculars, which although were slightly more expensive at $44.99 are handheld and don't require a strap. These are great! Have not had any problems since christmas. My son loves them. He can see great and the binoculars are dual vision unlike these goggles that are monovision. I've since read many reviews on the goggles and apparently many people have the same problem with them breaking. DON"T BUY THESE goggles. Get the binoculars.
Cool toy! January 24, 2010 Jean_Pearson (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ok, I have to admit that I wanted to be the "cool" aunt so I got these for my nephew. I'm glad I did because he loves them. Now keep in mind that they are not special ops quality or anything like that, but heck for this price they sure are fun. Cost for a pair of night vision goggles: $80.00. The look on your nephew's face when he opens his gift: PRICELESS.
Works well, but poor quality parts January 15, 2010 M.M. (San Francisco) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The goggles themselves work well, but the pieces holding the headstrap are make of poor quality plastic and broke within an hour. That was very disappointing. I was able to use duct tape and wire to repair it sufficiently to stay on, but I hate when toys break on Christmas Day.
