Great Toy! July 28, 2010 beckahlaine I bought this for my 23 month old daughter. The recommended age bracket starts at 3 years but since my daughter had learned all her numbers (1-10) and upper-case alphabet by 18 months, and there were no small pieces, I thought she may enjoy it. She LOVES this toy. In fact, she's learning her phonics very well on it. She can beat the phonics game and has learned all her lower case letters. We're still learning how to use the mouse games but it's GREAT for hand-eye coordination. She's 27 months now and the computer is still in fantastic condition. We've taught her to be very careful with her toys so she isn't the type of child who will purposly drop or throw it, but she does have little friends come over and I've seen the laptop go sailing across the living room more than once but we've still had zero problem with it.
I have seen comments that say the toy wasn't very educational.... To that, I say this:
Why would you let a toy educate your child??? Education requires human interaction, and I garentee you that if you sit WITH your child while they play on it and work with them, they'll learn.
It was a hit! July 20, 2010 Deeva Bought this toy for my nephew's 2nd birthday. He was always fascinated by the adult's laptops so I thought this would be a good idea for a birthday gift. I learned from a friend that their son had this particular laptop and it had really helped him learn his abc's so I purchased it. My nephew likes all the sights and sounds and it looks pretty real! Great value for the money and it is helping him learn his ABC's! I would definitly recommend.
nice looking but not very useful July 4, 2010 JMP (Irving, TX, USA) the color part of this laptop prompted us to purchase this one. after using for 3 hours or so it seems it gets quite boring. number and music mode are very disappointing. phonics mode shuts off by itself after showing 2 letters. Overall this is not comparable to some other models I have seen with other kids. returning this.
A good distraction from parent's laptop June 16, 2010 M. Barnes Our 14 month old son always wanted to bang on our laptops, and this one seems to be a good substitute in his eyes. He is too young to be getting much educational value from it yet, but he is enjoying it!
My daughter just loves it May 27, 2010 G. Chen (Bay Area, CA) Just bought this two weeks ago. So far my daughter plays with it every evening. She likes the letter game and is very happy every time she got all the letters correct. The pull-out mouse is fun too.
